System Requirements

Before installation, the setup program automatically checks whether your system meets the minimum requirements. If these requirements are not met, the installation will not proceed.

Note: It is recommended to close all running programs before installing the software. For best results, consider restarting your computer prior to beginning the installation process.

Important: Non-medical editions of Dragon do not support dictation directly into Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. For EMR integration and medical workflow support, please use the Dragon Medical Edition.

Hardware Requirements

RAM

• Minimum: 4 GB RAM
• Recommended: Higher RAM for optimal performance

CPU

• Minimum: 2.2 GHz Intel® dual-core processor or equivalent AMD processor
• Faster processors provide improved performance
• Important: SSE2 instruction set support is required

Processor Cache

• Recommended: 2 MB L2 cache
• Minimum: 512 KB

Free Hard Disk Space

• Minimum: 8 GB available space
• Disk Installation: 3.2 GB (4 GB for localized non-English versions)
• Download Installation: Up to three times the space may be required during installation due to temporary files

Supported Operating Systems

• Windows 8.1
• Windows 10
• Windows 11

Additional Requirements

• Internet Explorer 11 or the latest version of Chrome or Edge (for online Help and web installation)
• Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2 or later
• A DVD-ROM drive (if installing from physical disk)
• An audio input device capable of 16-bit recording for dictation
• Internet connection for connecting to the Nuance Management Center (NMC) Server

If the Microsoft .NET Framework is not already installed on your system, you will be prompted to install it during the Dragon installation process. The framework must be downloaded directly from Microsoft.
